I called at a friends the other week just to have a rummage through all his aircraft junk and what did I find?.................A complete hand controller for the turret!
As you can gather we had a quick chat over it and agreed a swop...........job done!

Here it is in all its glory just waiting to be fitted , I think the next jobs are the remanufacture of the seat and an outer traversing ring. :D

I had a stroke of good luck ,just so happened to be in contact with the chaps from Windsor in Canada who were in need of some Lancaster tail turret parts. they had managed to obtain the cupola frame and I agreed they could have all my FN120 tail turret parts ,what little I had.
In exchange I could have all their surplus M250 parts which so happened to be over at East Kirby in the UK where the Lancaster just jane is located.
I also agreed to collect their rear cupola from Cumbria and deliver it to east Kirby , on arrival I met Andrew Panton who now is in charge of looking after Just Jane and was surprised in the fact he also gave me all their surplus M250 parts as well!
It was a long day but well worth it , if you are ever passing call in its a must!
sorry about the quality of the first picture but as you can see theres some good stuff and that's not all of it. The other pics are of the main electrical panel being lined up with the new seat base , one of the side panels after being painted and I`m trying to make one fire interrupter out of three. ;)

One of the hand operated turret controls nearly finished but it still needs a new chain and a plastic hand which I might have to make a new one from scratch?
Most of the other bits are still with the sand blaster ,cant wait to get them back!

I think the next bits that I need to look for are the frontal armour plate , the ammo box guide and support rails and the gun sight bracket assembly.
There might be an offer of a genuine outer turret traverse ring but that will be down to the cost of shipping , there was also a mention of a used Perspex dome but I`m not holding out for that one but as usual time will tell? ;)

Thanks Stephen for the support and kind remarks , still a long way from finishing but its the journey that's the intresting part especially the people you meet and the places it takes you to.
One of the chaps that I have met along this particular journey has a ball turret which was a shock to see , as I never new there was one in private hands here in the UK......... ;)
