Hi all

I'm from Melbourne, Australia, and kinda new to USAAF reenacting, previously been mostly a collector. I am a member of the Geelong Military Reenactment Group here in Victoria and have been reenacting ground forces for many years. There has been a bit of interest in our group to expand into air forces as an addition to what we currently do as we have a few good air shows here as well as public events and some good air museums.

Additionally, there is a STRONG history of the USAAF in Australia during the war.

I've browsed the forum a bit and there seems to be some like minded people here so here I am!

cheers

Steve

Welcome along. Make sure you share plenty of photos from events you attend.

My dad was in the USAAF (5th AF) in WW II in Townsville, Australia and loved your country and your right that there is a lot of USAAF history in Australia. Have you been to Peter Dunn's web site yet called Australia At War, it's really good?

Hi Mike,

5th AF huh? Very cool! I know Townsville well, I spent 12 years in the Army and some time there. Albeit in armour, not wings!

Yes, seen that site, its pretty good!

Thanks for the welcome all.

Steve
