Hi Everyone,

I just joined today. I'm looking forward to learning a lot from you all about the USAAC in the UK.

I've dabbled in WW2 collecting for many years and my interest is primarily the 365 Fighter Group (The Hell Hawks), and in particular the 388 Fighter Squadron. I am currently researching Lt Col Robert L Coffey, Jnr. who flew with the group / Squadron in the ETO 44-45 and supported the D Day landings. Unfortunately he was killed in a jet accident in 1949 as a full USAF reserve Colonel.

I live in East Anglia UK, the best place for access to a whole range of former USAAC sites like Alconbury, Molesworth, Bassingbourn and the such. I'm interested in putting together a replica USAAC officer's uniform and perhaps meeting up with local re-enactors, so I will be asking a lot of questions about sources etc.

Best Regards

Tony A. :D
