As a new section as been created allowing links to be posted of other forums and sellers should we allow e.bay links to be posted as well?

I'm asking this question because a few years ago I posted a link on the British WWII re-enactment forum to a certain e.bay item.

Now this in turn opened a can of worms because another forum member (who is also on here) politely pointed out that he was watching it for himself and didn't really want a load more potential bidders going up against him.

He stated that if the other people don't put the effort in to find them then why should we do it for them?

Another member replied that as its an auction site the seller would want more potential bidders.

Therefore I have started a simple poll about this idea so please feel free to vote and reply with any queries/questions or even observations on this matter.

MIKE.

I am always against posting direct links to live auctions unless it's the seller and then it should go in the buy and sell section. Many members are also dealers or simply folks who like to buy and sell. Finding diamonds in the rough is a hard and time consuming process and if someone can find something no one else has seen and get a god deal then more power to them, it's simply not fair to those who have worked hard. Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth.

A very valid observation.

I must admit I tend to lean towards this ideal of thinking.

Correct. If some one takes the time to look for an item then fair play to them.
