Here's a picture of a few surface finds after ploughing, nothing of real interest, 50 cal rounds, frag bomb arming wire, fastner, cable clip, aircraft nut, 250lb bomb fuse plug and some agricultural bits top row.

Just wondering whether anyone knows what the item top right maybe as I found four of them!!

Also any idea what the split pin with the finger pull tab may be off???

Always nice to find a few bits from the past. No idea what the top right items are though - brackets of some kind, or could they have been attached to canvas?
Making a call tonight to see if the site of a B-26 belly landing/fire/explosion is clear of crops (beans I think this year) for a little Sunday outing we have planned. Lots of items turn up during ploughing each year, but the site was only swept once back in the 70's by a local guy, so sure there is more to find. The crew all got out, so only aircraft parts to locate, we hope.

Cheers Paul I had thought some sort of latch. We kept the others as well so will have to find them. Do you have a picture of the latch??? Will head out again when the fields have been harrowed and rolled.

Will try to remember to take a photo while I'm in the "reference section" at Alconbury today. :)
