Had an invite by Chris Warne to attend Daymns Hall weekender.

Was a great get together and met Chris for the first time. A great group with a load of kit and knowledge.

Ended up doing an ad-hoc armorers display which went well but needs developing further.

So Chris and the lads, thanks for the invite and showing me a great time.

MIKE.

Good to meet you Mike (finally), and don't do yourself an injustice mate - your Armorers display was excellent. It drew enough people over to our display to look, touch, ask questions etc... which is what it's all about.

Overall, we struggled a little this year as we had no military vehicles (my Dodge was sold to help fund our new house build!) and had to manage with a rented transit. Our Damyns Hall display is in a great location, which is secure for as long as we attend, with space even for Osgoods F1A if necessary! We've decided that we need to plan the logistics a little better, as this year we could only manage to get around 1/3 of the display to site, which still looked good, but we could have done so much more. Currently, there's 6 regular attendees/members of our display (including Mike who lost his virginity this weekend!) and I'm certain there are others who would like to come and join us.
For your 2015 calendar, the Military & Flying Machines Show at Damyns Hall will be on 1st & 2nd August. We will arive on Thursday 30th July, setup the display, and have a relaxed EHMVA/Participants only day on the Friday. If you're into AAF 'ground crews', then we'd be keen to have you come along for the weekend.

It's a shame it clashes with our Croft Nostalgia event as I'd like to go to DH one day. Unfortunately, being one of the Croft organising team, it's a bit had to get out of!! Still, I held my own at Croft with three vehicles, trailer, mechanic's display, navigator's display and photo development/target analysis display.

Shame we couldn't get EVERYTHING together for one big display, but it was hard enough and expensive enough to get three vehicles to an event only 40 miles away. Getting it to the other end of the country could bankrupt me!
