Just spotted a lot of original photos of Burtonwood airbase for sale on ebay USA ,just type in burtonwood .Theres some brilliant views of engine rebuilds ,bombsights ,parachute stores etc.Plenty of pictures of what the guys were wearing whilst working ,overalls ,caps ,flying jackets etc.
Even down to the mundane , style of chairs ,telephones ,desk , storage racks and a run around airfield jeep , i would love to buy the whole album but i think it would be beyond my pocket

In the parachute repacking shed what are those things nearest to the camera ? crash test dummys?
Also the guy in the office picture he is wearing the shoulder flash of a technician 4th grade of the 3rd army , The badge with an A in a circular back ground.Whats he doing at Burtonwood?

Is he in transit ,is he stationed there?.................who knows what story is?

The P47D in the next picture does any one know whats it full name is , combat history and did it survive?
